At first, when I joined Earthlink a few years ago, I was really happy with their service and the techs were wonderful and all spoke English. Then something happened. Tech support was moved out of the US, tech support became non-existent and the quality of the dial up service went down the toilet.
And low and behold JD Powers decided that Earthlink was deserving of their coveted award.
Earthlink use to be worth the money, now they are an over priced, over rated and rude service.
I have had issues for the last several months with their
software and confilicts on my WindowsXP laptop. Their email
program is plagued with problems so I switched to Eudora. I have spent a small fortune on my
laptop since earthlinks tech support had me do changes to the config, the
Windows registry etc, all of which I found out where unnecessary adjustments and actually caused me down time. I am not a techno geek, I managed techno geeks. If I ran my call center the way Earthlink runs theirs I'd be run out of town. It is never acceptable to have hold times of more than a couple of minutes (Earthlinks average is over 25 minutes), it is never acceptable to cause a customer more problems and not offer restitution, it is never acceptable to tell a customer "gee we don't know what is wrong" when their email has been down for hours because of an earthlnk
server problem. Earthlink has issues, but they let them sit. When you ask them what the problem currently is they play you for a fool. And to
boot I can't even talk to someone who has a reasonable command of the English language at times.
And you just gotta love a tech who says "Is Dallas a part of the US?" Now that makes me really feel like their is competency in the Earthlink technical side. No wonder they are letting problems sit, they are probably still trying to figure out where Dallas is.
Sorry, but the service has gotten ridiculous. My email has been down for hours today and you can't even access webmail.
I think I'll switch to Intergate where I can have 100 mail boxes, professional service and a tech who speaks English thank you very much.
