Probably a script error. Just use Microsoft Outlook for mail. Just use IMP for webmail.
Though I'm new to Intergate, I am finding support lacking. I lost my webmail by probably my error and for some reason I they can't seem to get it back. Support is not helping that I know of. I've also learned they can only talk by phone not email. This is getting really frustrating especially since I bought in for a year and there's no recourse.
I'll be back and readjust this rating if anything positive happens.
I have been Beta Testing Intergate for some time. As an AOL subscriber for a long time, I have been looking at other options. So far, I have been very happy with Intergate. Connect speeds are sometimes a bit slower than expected, but I've always had slower connect speeds due to my location and noisy phone lines. I use a USR Courier V.Everything 56K external modem (one of the best, if not the best analog modem available), and I generally never connect faster than 40K - sometimes 32K. But, I saw this with AOL as well. I've only had two opportunities to speak to Intergate's support staff, and in each case the call was handled very well. And, they have expeditiously answered my support e-mails. I've looked into a few local ISP's, but none seem to offer what Intergate offers for $10 per month (billed monthly). It's not unlimited service - 200 hours per month, I believe. But, for many of internet users, that's enough time - unless you live for being online! Frankly, I think Intergate, as well as a number of similar national ISP's, are very well kept secrets. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Intergate.
I assumed that if they stated V92 connections they would support it! Now I have to snail mail my cancellation on the account when they falsly advertised on this area! (304)
Outgoing mail server didn't work. After trying the fixes they sent, they finally told me to change the outgoing mail server name to something other than intergate.
Their main page and faq page don't tell the customer that the access time is only unlimited in two areas of the country. Everyone else has a 200 hour limit.
It took almost 24 hours of trying to figure this out, including tech support efforts, before they finally discovered that I had used more than 200 hours and had been cut off.
They left for the day without resolving connection problems that had been reported that afternoon. (Or, they just quit answering)
Can't get through on phone line. Tried different times for two days and all I ever got was a busy signal.
Customer has to write a detailed letter to the company if the customer wants to cancel their account. They also require an account number on the cancellation letter which they have never sent. They say call if I need to get it, but it's impossible to get through. Therefore, in order to close my account, I'm required to provide a piece of info that they never sent and is impossible to get from them because their phone is constantly busy.
I've tested several isps. This one was a really bad experience.
They are deceptive. They advertise $9.95/month for unlimited 56k access. Here's my experience:
1. They debit my checking account $9.95/month. Another company also debits my account for $4.95/month for network access.
2. I couldn't log on yesterday and called tech support. They said I had reached my 200-hour limit. I called customer service since they said unlimited access. They told me unlimited referred to the fact they don't limit what sites you can visit, not to usage. They said I have a 200 hour/month usage limit.
3. The advertise over 40,000 newsgroups, but they have a very short retention time and limit you to 4 connections to the news server.
4. The filter certain ports (i.e. 25). If you want to send e-mail, you either have to use their account to send it from or use a webmail-type account (like hotmail).
5. When I signed up, I picked jojo_133 as my user id. When I tried to access the ftpserver to upload a webpage to my personal space, it wouldn't let me logon. I called tech support and was told I wouldn't be able to logon to the ftp server because I have an underscore \_ in my user id.
I have been using Intergate now for several weeks, and have had no problems whatsoever.
Connect times are quick. SMTP (outbound email) service quick and reliable.
Quick dialup speeds. (Compared to others in my area)
Reliable connection. (No unusual disconnects. Only standard interval disconnects standard with almost all ISPs)
No need to try their technical support.
I would give Intergate 5 stars, but I think that rating is completely impossible to achieve for anyone. In my book, 4 stars is the best rating available that I can give.
Best Regards,

The service was fast, pretty reliable, was never knocked off. I did have occasional problems with authentication, but not enough to be called unacceptable.
However......I finally got Broadband in my area and have been trying two days to contact customer support to cancell my Intergate account.....left messages.....left e-mails.....nothing. At end of day today I will have to call my CC company and block charges.
